To the Harry Potter one:
It's because he wasn't destroyed. "But wait," you say. "He wasn't destroyed in book seven yet he still isn't a horcrux anymore!" The horcrux in him was destroyed, just not the vessel. In second year, neither he, nor the horcrux were destroyed, leaving him with that part of Voldemort's soul still in him.
the whole point of the time line is that he gets stuck as a beast forever unless he can find true love before his 21st birthday which means that he has to have been aging the whole time.
I thought the painting of the beast was part of the spell. Maybe it aged with him to torture him by showing him what he could be, what he was. That witch was a bitch.
On the hobbit hole: the eagles were not willing to go much beyond the edge of the misty mountains. They did not want to be killed by farmers protecting their flocks. Additionally, the only reason they flew the group so far was because they killed the goblin king, who they hated.
It disapoints me that the eagles never talk, like they do in the book. Also, the entire azog story line pisses me off. Azog is long dead by the time the hobbit takes place.

along with some other questions we were all wondering about.
