I had almost the same experience with my old bank. I left them, but it cost me money and damage to my credit. Everyone I know who banks there has hated it. I don't know why anyone stays with them.
Yeah I'm sick of my bank screwing me to since they insist on taking money out every month for no reason and then charge me an overdraft when their 'account maintenance' fee crosses my freaking $10k equipment payment to them! I love when $5 becomes $50 magically!
Now we see the bad side of revenge: This terrible bank is occuopying this person's consciousness to where he (she?) speaks to friends and acquantances about withholding their business. This bank occupies a portion of the writer's psyche...something that I try not to allow bullies and general b@st@rds to do.
Once a bank screwed me over, and I switched to a different bank without holding onto a grudge. I *did* allow myself a moment of gloating when they went out of business a few years later.
"No, it's fine! I'll die for your sins! Don't worry!"
"Nah, we'll totally drink your blood. It looks delicious!"
"No no, I CAN carry the cross. DON'T WORRY! It's fine!"
