the creator of GIF said it is pronounced 'jif' because he originally wanted to make a spoof ad of Jif (Advertising Graphics Interchangable Format of course). However, if you just *look* at the name, you can tell it's pronounced 'gif' as the g is from graphics, which doesn't have a j sound, If i'm correct. JK Rowling may have said something, but sometimes the creators don't even understand their own products. Either way, you're referencing the movies, which weren't directed by the original author, so there is a chance that the director didn't realize himself and so changed the snakes.
Thank you and good day/night!
Hey, I noticed that you guys really didn't like my previous post. I'm really sorry for that, and I don't wanna keep making people angry. If you have the time, please tell me! Again, I'm sorry if I said something wrong and please correct me for the future. Thanks!

I guess you might have a point (about the species (boa/poisonous), by the time the producers made the first film, they had no idea about nagigi or horrocruxes), but again, don't believe everything you see on the internet
Nagini was a magical snake in the books, it was venomous and definitely not the snake that Harry saw in the zoo, unless that snake was not the snake they thought it was...
While most others have raised enough points as proof that this is incorrect, I'm just going to add a few extras:
1) Voldemort made Nagini a horcrux because he possessed her while in semi-ghost form in the forests of Albania. Likely, he was possessing her before Harry had ever been to the zoo.
2) The boa is a male, while Nagini is female.
3) Even if they were the same snake, how would it have gotten to Albania from Britain? That's an extremely far journey considering snakes don't migrate.
1) Perhaps the snake was some Abanian's lost pet when Voldemort found her and was caught by someone then brought to a British zoo.
2) We only guess at the zoo snake's gender because it was voiced by a male voice actor. Female/Male snakes don't have differences in their larynx(voice box) like in people so it could be either gender but we can't tell by it's voice depth. We know Nigini is a female because it was said in the book.
3) She may have been bewitched to return, traveled all the way back because Britain houses a poor habitat for tropical boa constrictors, or most likely a death eater could've brought her back.
1) the snake was a boa bred in the zoo, it's on a plaque both in the books and in the movie, so there's no way that's possible. Nagini was definitely in Albania before Harry released the one in the zoo, so since the snake in the zoo had to have been there it's whole life, this simply isn't possible, otherwise the snake wouldn't have said that it had never been free.
2) This is a good point :)
3) I'm confused by this one? Bewitched to return to britain or to albania? I'm not sure what you mean but yeah :)
Mm. I think the trouble was more how it got from with Voldemort in Albania (where it was before and supposedly during its time in the zoo) to residing in Britain with a plaque that said bred in captivity. Considering Voldemort probably wouldn't have let the snake just get taken to the zoo.
It's not even the same species of snake.
Thank you and good day/night!
