While the pear is small they put them in the jar. And hang the jars in the trees, when the fruit is rip enough to pick they clip the stem and take the bottle down with fruit inside.

Actually, they put a pice of tree in the bottle and hang it in a pear so it grows and then they take the bottle down and the ship is fully grown.
