The only reason i personally eat ice cream when it's cold is because my mom and brother are obsessed with it and we have an icecream shop right next to our house
None of that music sounds appealing or sweet to me. Again we're analyzing two different genres for their lyrical content. I have yet to hear someone claim that "mainstream" music is actually "mainstream" just special snowflakes that think they're significantly better than everyone because they don't fall under herd mentality. Here's a tip to all you special snowflakes stop comparing things that make you happy to stuff that makes others happy because you're following herd mentality by doing so.
Oh my god! Please preach!! I'm tired of everyone who does this! Like we get it they're different lyrics. How about you let others enjoy what they like and don't judge them for that. Like honestly, you don't have to make yourself seem better for liking non-mainstream things.
And not just that, but it's always the best from one genre and the worst from another. Ed Sheeran is "mainstream" but his lyrics are deep and beautiful.
"emo" music: How confused you must be, finding love in the blood that you bleed. But the truth is that I see, why you say hard to be me. And we all make mistakes, it's not you but this world you should hate. You are as beautiful as you were yesterday. <3
I understand that everyone has their own opinions, but not all "acceptable music" talks about ass and titties and swag. There are people like Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Beyonce, and so many others that don't write their music like what the post is portraying as "acceptable". Saying that "acceptable music" is provocative and retarded, is the same as some of the people saying that "emo" music is for depressed and socially awkward people. It's ignorance. Not every song that shows meaning and feelings should be labeled "emo" and music that has a sick beat and talks about ass and titties shouldn't be labeled as "acceptable" as if all other's aren't. That's not the case. Just like the music you like, why does it have to have a label? who the hell cares?
How about we don't fight over which music is "acceptable" or better, because everyone has different tastes in music and you can't change their opinions because you're offended.
Who said I was offended? I don't remember typing in my post that I was offended. I'm just saying (not arguing I might add) that people like that they like, it doesn't matter.
My apologies, but that was most definitely not directed towards you. I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. I was just saying that people can't get offended over something as little as someone disliking their taste of music just because they think it's the best. Seriously. Everyone has different opinions and preferences. You can't judge a genre of music or someone that likes that genre just because you don't. It makes no sense. Like you said—just like the music you like.
OKAY NO NOW IM SORRY LOL. I GOT THE NOTIFICATION THAT THERE WAS A NEW COMMENT SO I ASSUMED IT WAS POINTED TOWARDS ME. I'm really sorry. I love you and I appreciate you agreeing with my opinion.
No, no, it's all right! Just a simple mistake. I should have elaborated and directed my comment more thoroughly. No harm done, so everything's cool. :)
Believe it or not, most people listen to music for the way it sounds, and unfortunately for you, emo music sounds like recycled garbage with generally depressing people
Are.. Are you serious..? I mean it's okay if you don't like "emo" music...but don't say its only for depressed people my friend listens to "emo" music and she ain't depressed.
It would've been more practical to use "seem" in place of sound.
I meant my original comment as in she is apparently depressed but doesn't seem like it in her comments. That's what I was trying to say.
In my second comment I just rephrased it.
Many of the people who're depressed develop defense mechanisms to refrain from looking or acting as though they're depressed. I personally suffer from depression and at times it shows but for the most part my depression never shows. Some of the happiest of people on the outside may never seem as though something could be wrong but on the inside could be the saddest or most damaged of people. An example of a defense mechanism. A girl whom I used to help cope with self harm was the most happy go lucky girl I'd ever met, but that was only a facade. She was always smiling and laughing on the outside. No one but me ever knew of her self harming because human minds have a tendency to see someone who's constantly happy as someone who has no issues whereas on the contrary many of the happiest people are dying on the inside. I could go more into the psychology about it but I have a rather limited space and I don't want to bore you with it.
