Shower thought: What if there are hundreds-heck even THOUSANDS-more planets like Earth, (civilized and all), we just don't have technology capable of reaching that far out yet.

I think there are. I am positive there is at least some kind of life in the universe somewhere. It would be cool to find out :D

Earth isnt a rare planet considering we have an infinitely expanding universe

There has to be at least one other planet almost identical to Earth. There are plenty of stars and plenty of planets.

There have been dozens of exoplanets (planets outside our solar system) discovered that are nearly identical to earth some even better than earth. Stable environments, normal temperatures, stable atmospheres, oxygen atmospheres, some even with what we think is liquid water. They are out there. We just can't get to them

Mars survival is possible. They're sending 60 people on a one way trip to mars somewhere between 2020 and 2030

There should be a 'yet' in there.

I agree that there is a possibility of having other planets that can sustain life as Earth is able to. However, none have been discovered and even if so, it would be millions of lightyears away and we don't have the technology to travel that far. However, if somehow we did have the ability to travel that far and onto a habited, civilized planet, we still can't just take it away from its original inhabitants. Therefore, i agree with the picture that this is the only habitable planet we get and we should treasure it. (Just my thoughts honestly, not flaming anyone)

Well actually, there is actually a planet like Earth in which people could live on it, but that's about 600 lightyears away.

I saw a documenty on if it was possible, and it is if they can build a ship that uses atomic bombs to propell it but it would still take 60+ years

We might. That would be exciting. Did you know they already found a planet where the possibility of life is 100%? Link; http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/30/100-percent-chance-for-life-on-newly-found-planet/

We would have the technology to reach another habitable planet, its just that people don't like funding NASA

Actually there are exoplanets and it's possible to live in exoplanets but it would take so many years to get there and how could we possible get atleast half of the world on that planet.
