Probably because we've explored more of space than our oceans. MH370 (if you're referring to that) was lost in the sea. It's been one year, but the thing about that is that we as a world have pretty much dedicated more of our effort to exploring worlds beyond than exploring the ocean.

Still bigger than most other bodies of water on the planet. And it's a hell of a lot bigger than a 777. Try losing a pebble on the beach. It's easy.

eelluuxx I think you are confused on how gps works. Clear view of the sky and gps works.... it has nothing to do with radar.

Satilite is also a name for moons, astroids, etc. Most of those satilites are large rocks orbiting us. Learn English.
