Taka. It's Swahili for "garbage."
Incidentally, "Mufasa" means "king."

His name was Taka.

In the novel series his name was Taka. It means 'dirt' or 'trash' in Swahili, or sometimes means 'want'.
After a fight with some water buffalo (he was trying to trick Mufasa being jealous of him being next inline) he was scarred.
From then on he insisted he was called, and would only answer to, Scar
