I learned that how China and Japan learned each other's language is they pointed at a mountain and a chinese man said "shan" while a japanese man thought "isn't it yama?" and tried to prenounce it and apparently went like:
Chinese man: *points at mountain* shan.
Japanese man:"s-s-san? San?"
Chinese man:"No, shan"
Japanese man:"s-san? San? Ok, san." *writes "chinese pronounciation of yama is san"*
And this went on with other things until they understood each other's language. And that's how it happened. (Pretty sure it was partly exaggerated, though.)
Yes it is. And if you're translate the entire phrase in French "non, c'est une putain de pomme."
je trouve que certaines expressions sont mieux en anglais que en français :)
