Apple doesn't make green chargers though, so you can blame it all on that one company. And, seriously, what are you doing with those cables? I refuse ro believe that your way of using them are 99% of the problem.
This is like 75% user error. You're unplugging by pulling on the cord. You're supposed to pinch the white plastic part and pull. This happens to any cord, not just Apple products (it happened to my old samsung with the micro usb)
They're thin to cut down on manufacturing costs so they're delicate
