Getting this on the front page of FB isn't going to help. Unless, of course, you had a link to a donation website, which is something these losers (NOT JUST THE PEOPLE READING THIS BUT MYSELF TOO) can do.
It's so cool how people can like a post on any fucking social media site and it automatically fixes the problem! Not like you can just do a donation; Nope, we're so advanced, technology-wise, that liking pictures can prevent animal death.
Amazing.
Yay! I'm not the only one who sees the issue in putting these posts on here that are supposed to make your feels get going, then go "ok plz lyke this.. for the rhinos not me".
I know. It's one thing when you can say "like this" as some sort of petition, but just telling people to like your post about sad things, what do we have to gain from that? Bragging rights?
"Haha, I liked a sad post!"
Right? I was completely okay with this post until it said "upvote this, to denounce this aberration." Uhh... how is that going to make my grandkids know what a rhino is?
"Kids... let me tell you about the time that your grandmother liked a post about a rhino.."
Yeah and all of you wining about this post is going to do much more? Even if just one person read this and leant something new, that's better than a bunch of people complaining about what - how this post won't make a difference? News flash - neither will your inconsiderate comments.
even if we're not going to do anything, OP made this post specifically to exploit it for likes. If you're so annoyed by it. Why don't you do something?
There's not really anything I want to do about it. Certain people feel drawn towards certain issues to make a change about, but this is not mine. If OP feels this strongly about it, (s) he should get up and do something about it, not put it on the Internet and beg for likes.
I can see how this looks like it's fishing for likes. But if it's true info, why not enlighten people? I didn't know this was this bad. Many people may not. Upcoming it gets it to the popular page, where more people will see it. Maybe they ARE donating or doing something about it. How does anyone know?
I google image searched...this is dreadful and inhumane. I'm so sad. Upvoting isn't enough. We gotta spread this all over the Internet, let the animal rescue organizations see this.
Isn't hair made of Keratin too? If so you could collect the hair that is cut off at hair dressers, melt it down (if possible) into a mould that looks like a rhino horn, or you could just use the hair as it is if melting it isn't possible.
So in the arguments you're talking about if up-votes matter. But the real tragedy is that the underground Asian market has destroyed many animals and is threatening to destroy more. Like the elephant. Their tusks- ivory are valued in medicine and items for status. An African country just set 14 tons of ivory on fire b/c they'd rather have the elephants then even consider selling the tusks recovered from poachers to help their country. And all that ivory was in demand by Asian markets!?!?!
They also have a practice where they put fish & turtles & other aquatic life into key chains of colored water. This mean the little animal starves & suffocates to death. For a key chain. I like Asian culture and respect their contributions to the world and everything but they're FUCKED up. And if you think it doesn't affect us, the human slave trade- buying & selling of humans is VERY strong in Asia.
You can buy a wife for you dead son. They sell you a woman, marry her to your departed one, then KILL her to bury her with the son so he's not dishonored. WTF?!?
And you can easily sell your daughter.
Asians value sons over daughters so much that there is negative female growth. Many women are being trafficked into areas for slave wives and prostitutes.
Elephants, Rhinos, Tigers, Black Bears, Musk Deer, Sea Horses and many animals are endangered b/c of the Asian markets- traditional & black.
Sadly, it is now too late to save them! The Western Black Rhino has been declared extinct! But that doesn't mean we should give up, defeated..we should get angry & keep fighting for injustices that are happening still...TOGETHER, WE can make dramatic changes if we work together. There are many more of US than there are of those who are powerful, callous, and greedy - they are small in number (but big in strategies, plans, and cash) -with the power of love, and our own firm strategy to stand together for what is right...we can overtake their love of power and change the world. We have to stand strong, we cannot waver, because it is going to take time so WE CANNOT GIVE UP!! This fight started before we were born, and many before us have already struggled & made sacrifices with their lives (and many are doing so still today) so that we could come this far.so, we have to KEEP FIGHTING.
"Oh no, people are killing animals for resources!" It's almost like we're the dominant creature of the planet or something. Poaching laws are shit, why does it matter that species die out?
Look, I kinda agree with the first bit- that we should put the survival and development of the human race first and foremost. However, this is not a case of choosing between animal and man; it's the completely unnecessary hunting of an endangered species for a material that hardly aids us in any way. There's barely any gain from it.
Mankind goes first, yes, but that doesn't mean we should upset the ecosystem for shits and giggles.
Sure, lets upset the ecosystem. No one owns the planet, its our to plunder as we please. Who cares if species die out, they're just animals. Kill them for their horns or their racks or fins or whatever. Our violence got us to the top, I'm sure it can keep us here. It's our birthright to dominate nature. We have no responsibility to it.
So what you're saying is we should fast forward our demise since it will come sometime? That's like murdering someone on the basis that they're eventually gonna die anyway.
That analogy is wrong, because nothing would come from just killing a guy. What I'm saying is we should plunder the entire planet and use it's resources to create astonishing reckless wonders and astronomical feats rushing headfirst to our own demise, rather than being as conservative as possible and fading away very slowly and pathetically.
Garlog,!what are you smoking?
Why would you want to willingly destroy life on earth?
You're not making sense; you want to randomly just use the entire earth's resources to push ourselves further into the future, which I would get if you didn't want to use the entire planet.
In what way is what I said random? And what's wrong with using the entire planet? It just gonna die eventually anyway. Maybe using all the resources we can we will end up being able to separate ourselves from biology and leave this rock behind. That would be good right?
If this world is going to end what's the point of sucking up all its resources if we'll have to do it all over again? Also neither I nor Tony Stark called what you said random.
Stark is right though. destroying a planet just because we can...what's the point of that?
In any case, we'd be killed off, either through mythical space gods or by natural causes like asteroids:
"If this world is going to end what's the point of sucking up all its resources if we'll have to do it all over again?"
Entropy will takes us all one day, there's only a limited number of times that we would have to do anything. Plus you talk like all the progress we would make here wouldn't help us optimize our use of the next set of resources.
"Also neither I nor Tony Stark called what you said random."
>you want to randomly just use the entire earth's resources to push ourselves further into the future
"Stark is right though. destroying a planet just because we can...what's the point of that? "
The point is our full potential, not the bogged down potential we have if we ignore potential resources.
"In any case, we'd be killed off, either through mythical space gods or by natural causes like asteroids:"
Exactly. The end is inevitable, why worry about it?
Okay, I acknowledge my mistake with the word random, but in any case, you still seem like a crazy person.
Why would we delay what's going to happen anyway?
It's so true, it rhymes.
This garlog kid is blinded by violence and doesn't care about all the animals that are living, he doesn't care if they're endangered or not he's blinded and doesn't see the point why we are trying to protect the endangered animals. So he is messed up mentally, doesn't care about the environment, so I have a question for this guy. Do even have a heart?

"blinded by violence"
What would give you that idea?
"doesn't care about all the animals that are living, he doesn't care if they're endangered or not"
This makes me "messed up mentally"? How so?
"doesn't see the point why we are trying to protect the endangered animals."
I saw the point, and explained why I think it's a shitty reason.
"Do even have a heart?"
Sure, I've teared up from movies and the like from time to time, and I cried like a bitch when my Dad died. What of it?
Amazing.
