Is he really written as handsome, by the way? All my knowledge of Lucifer comes from Supernatural where he was indeed pretty damn fine, but does the Bible actually depict him as good looking? Just curious, because I thought he's usually depicted as some snake-like abomination, or simply a snake.
In his fallen angel form he is supposedly really beautiful. He was one of if not the (I forget exactly which) most beautiful angels. When he fell, his beauty was not stripped, just his residence in heaven. It also shows just how temptingly "beautiful" sin can seem before you actually do it. Example: cheating on that test seems like a good thing since your grade will benefit. But then, you get caught, and get a 0 on the test and fail the class.
Well, thank you for the enlightenment! I'm actually thinking of reading the Bible, just so I can understand the christians' point of view, but you know, fantasy and sci-fi is much more entertaining.
