Then most likely you have what is referred to as a "Standard" or a "Stick shift" with a clutch pedal (third pedal.) Where what they are talking about would be referring to an "Automatic" with only the gas and brake pedal and the transmission automatically shifts when certain conditions are met (I'm not sure of the inner workings of an automatic transmission so feel free to correct)
