But Top Gear fans weren't cutting themselves and crying about one band member leaving when the rest of the band is still there and producing music.l, while Top Gear looks to be finished because of it.
It's not the same, though. One, they're teenagers
I remember when I was a teen I made completely irrational decisions, but for some reason I was so sure they were the right thing to do. Though cutting yourself is extreme and shouldn't be done, these are children we're talking about. Telling them they're stupid and they're problem isnt real doesn't make them see what's wrong.
And who knows, maybe Zayn leaving prompts the band to break up or their music will be like a completely different band.
Because Zayn left of his own free will.
Jeremy Clarkson was terminated and left against his will.
There's a BIG difference between the two.
.
1D will carry on, much like the Backstreet Boys did when Kevin Richardson left.
Top Gear is now dead. You can't fire the main host of a show like Top Gear after thirteen years and expect it to survive.
I'm sorry, not that you give a shit enough to look it up,but have you heard his voice ? he's the only one who can hit high notes, the strong and"hard" parts were given to him, they're good, but they'll all sound the same without him
they're dead
Maybe now is the chance for the rest of the boys to work on their vocals and shine on their own in the group (I mean when its usually just Zayn, now the rest has chance to prove themselves as well)
I think one difference is that Zayn sort of betrayed the fans of his own free will. Not just by leaving, I was upset but have no problem with it- what a lot of fans are upset about is that he said he just wanted to 'live a normal 22-year old life' and then went to start a solo career.
Clarkson was kicked out. And of course it will affect people in different ways.
The rest of the Top Gear cast refuse to do the show without Clarkson.
One Direction have obviously been thrown off by Zayn leaving so abruptly.
The majority of fans of One Direction are teenage girls- they are naturally more emotional about the boys because there is now a potential that their favourite celebrity crushes will break up (and I won't lie, some are crazy).
For Top Gear, teenage girls is probably really far from the target audience- the majority are probably adults who won't be so bothered.
People watch Top Gear for the cars as well as the hosts, people like One Direction for the boys- it's all about them.
And now Richard and James have gone too! And it's all over! I am a girl and that was the only socially acceptable way for me to obsess over cars, while still being able to be "girly" at times. What am I to do?
And so does Zayn.
Different people matter more to different people. Like, maybe someone's husband died. They're going to lose their shit but you didn't really know them or feel anything for them, just saw them around every so often. You won't grieve the way they did because you didn't feel the same way.
And I'm just over here wondering who these people even are
I remember when I was a teen I made completely irrational decisions, but for some reason I was so sure they were the right thing to do. Though cutting yourself is extreme and shouldn't be done, these are children we're talking about. Telling them they're stupid and they're problem isnt real doesn't make them see what's wrong.
