The news isn't reporting it cause it was Christians that got slaughtered. The only news channel I saw broadcasting it was Fox News. The Pope gave a speech on it and everything. Can't believe y'all didn't hear about it.
All they said on my local news is that the terrorist were singling out Christians and killing them :'( I then bawled my eyes out not just for those killed but because this is what the world is coming to
Not making this any less terrible and sick minded, it were 142 students, 3 soldiers and 3 police men. 2 gunmen went into the university and hunted down every single student they could find, but not before forcing each to call up their parents, getting the kids to tell them to help making Kenya's troups leave Somalia and then shooting the students anyways. Few survived by smearing blood from dead students onto themselfes to look like they were shot, too. A 18 years old girl crawled out of a closet in the university unharmed, two days after the massacre, having hidden in there and being completly terrified and dehydrated. Kenia has just started a 3 days long mourning for the victims.
Just look it up for more information.
I've been thinking...
It would be better for everyone if people would conform more to their local social norms. The reason for this is that they'll be targeted if they step out of line; look at the US and our social treatment of gays and blacks and mexicans and all whatnots. As much as we don't like to think about it, we are a stereotype society still and most of the Middle East and parts of Africa are exponentially worse. If you look different there, you die. If you follow a different religion, someone will kill you. Of course, the majority there are probably tolerant but the few extremists wield so much local power that they get to dictate what flies and what doesn't. The people should hunker down and not draw attention and others should come in and try to help them out so that they're not hunted and killed like this.
As much as I believe in not going to other countries and being international police, terror incidents cannot be tolerated by the world and I think that the world should help prevent things like this. If it's an internal affair of the government and whatnot (like a civil war perhaps) I think everyone should pull out and let the country deal with it by themselves; they can't make an identity for themselves if others keep trying to put their fingers in the pie.
Wait so you want people to be EXACTLY the SAME so there won't be any discrimination or fighting? Yes that may stop some of the problems but that causes even deeper problems to us humans. You want homosexuals to just stop being gay? You want everyone to have the same culture and same skin tone? You want everyone to think the same and believe in the same ideals and beliefs? No. Fuck that. We as human beings should express ourselves to the fullest. When we stop being who we truly are then we're pretty much dead. You take away the individuality, you take away our freedom to experience the greatest gift to the max. Sorry but your first paragraph made me angry. Anyways.
Let's have a toast for the non-conformist! *raises drink heartedly*
In a manner of speaking yes. In internal affairs people should have to sort their own messes out because they need to figure out how they're going to represent themselves in the world (in other words, politics). Religious fights are not constrained by national borders and therefore not an internal affair, but this also makes it all that more dangerous. The entire world should be on an active manhunt for ISIS and other extremist groups (especially religion).
Well They can't do things on their own cause we always butt in if their country has some sort of significance to us at that moment. If they're not of any importance then we just ignore it. And as good as it sounds for the world to come together and stop a malicious group, a lot of countries hate us and I doubt they'd want to help in any way. Even if it's the "right" thing to do
And that's the problem. People always want a piece of someone else's pie. And if we take someone else's pie they're friends are gonna get mad and try and get the pie back but we've already gotten our grubby fingers all over it and now it's kinda dirtied and messed up and holy shit now we have a terrorist group what do we do?

But if everyone were to be the same and not draw attention to themselves, that would mean not having a different opinion from everyone else.
Are you implying Benito Mussolini was not human as he was able to create modern fascism, or that later followers of fascism such as the obvious German Socialist workers party were also not human, but had minds that could perceive things we as humans cannot?

You're asking someone to be respectful. I haven't been keeping track of you but that seems slightly off from the normal "stereotypical internet behavior".

I dunno, it might just be me noticing something nonexistent.

If you show me a comment that I made, then I'll apologize. I also have explained that a few days ago, my account was hacked, and someone made comments without my noticing. This guest made an innopropriate comment on an important topic post. It upset me and I defende those 148 students.
I haven't noticed that you've made any mean comments. I'm probably just having a bout of paranoia of positivity.

To be honest, I kind of agree with Tyler here. I've seen users put others down for their trashcan opinions, but not necessarily ask them to be respectful. It just seems unusual.
