iOS has this option, but it's somewhat hidden. It's designed for use by companies that use iPads in public places (like as kiosks for showing product information or filling out surveys). Go into "Settings", chose "General", "Accessibility", and then "Guided Access". Turn it on, then go into the "Passcode Settings" and set a passcode. If you have a newer device, you can turn on Touch ID here as well.
.
Now, when you want to show someone something, triple press the home button. Guided Access lets you choose what to disable (buttons, screen, etc). You can even disable only certain parts of the screen if you'd like. Just triple click home again to exit (you'll have to enter the passcode or use Touch ID).

Oh, and this sounds complicated (like, way too much to just show a picture to a friend), but it's not. Once you've set it up and used it once, you don't need to change the settings every time.
.
Simply:
1. Press home button three times. Your phone is now locked in to this page.
2. Hand phone to friend. Friend cannot move the page.
3. When you get it back, press home once and leave your finger on it for Touch ID to read your fingerprint. Phone unlocks, you continue using it as normal.
