I thought that was going to be one of those things where the conclusion is that people who like you for what you look like aren't worth your time, etc, etc, but I'm glad that it instead shows that being healthier really does make you happier :)

the point you've missed is the following: It was her own attitude towards her body-image and the image other people may have had, that made her unhappy, not her weight. You are the one who decides if people like you or not, by being able to love yourself or not... It is even easier to lose weight if you like yourself independently of how you look now. And last but not least: you do not become happier by being healthier, but healthier by being happier. this is an important difference, though I think it works in both directions :)

There is a thing called Lookism. It's a psychological response humans have to people we perceive as being better looking. We tend to think people who look better are more trustworthy and capable than other people. What most people don't think about is that we also apply this to ourselves. When we perceive ourselves as better looking we gain confidence in ourselves, and tend to be more optimistic about our ability to do things and succeed.
