Good in theory, but nothing can stop a person when steam has their summer sales, it doesn't matter if you own nothing but a computer with an internet connection to run steam, you would kill a man with a small shard of glass you broke from a cup in the gutter and take his money just to buy some cheap games
Objection!
.
A little over a week ago, I would have agreed with you... However, with the paid mods fiasco, Valve & Steam had goddamned better well tread fucking lightly from here.
.
Sure, they killed it after "The Internet" completely lost it's shit, but they burned a hell of a lot of goodwill.
As will I, I'm sure... Low throughput on my internet notwithstanding.
.
But we're probably good though, because:
Strike 1: HL1, HL2, HL2E1, HL2E2, ...
Strike 2: Paid mods.
Strike, um... what comes after 2?
I don't think Valve knows either. I don't think there will be another one after 2.
Yeah, but we can't really strike them yet for Half Life 3, the most recent instalment HL2E2 came out late 2007, I'd say give them a few more years, then if there's still nothing then we can strike them. With the paid mods thing, at least it didn't stick, it would've been a lot worse if valve just kept going with it even with the hatred. But all in all I still like valve, I've played (as far as I can think of) all their games except the Dota games and the first counter strike (the single player one), so I have grown rather fond of them
