The person could very well be ignorant to what is actually happening, but since you seem to know, could you please inform us with your godlike knowledge of the events?
well yeah the riots of 1968 were actually about race. Blacks and whites trying to coexist in america but blacks were being oppressed. Whats happening now in Baltimore and Ferguson it is not about race anymore. It is about a group of low self esteem individuals who have blamed an incident on race. Baltimore has many black officials including a black Mayor, Stephanie Rawlings. Not to mention, all the black officers with high positions in that city alone. So you see why I strongly disagree with this cover of magazine and people who feed off this type of propaganda. The issue is not race anymore. It is improper education and a bunch of individuals who use the phrase "its because I'am black." I guess i'll admit the person who posted this is not completely ignorant as i stated earlier but for sure misinformed.
You seriously don't know about the riots? Basically .1% of cops are scumbags. A guy was abused in Baltimore and died. There was a race riot after the man's funeral. The protesters want us to believe that even though only a small percentage of cops are bad that we should hate them all. At the same time we are not allowed to judge the "black community" because only a small percentage of them are gang banging dirtbags. To demonstrate this point a bunch of thugs are assaulting cops and firemen while destroying private property and committing many acts of arson.
And now from an unbiased viewpoint, the same story.
In America, there has been a string of incidents where white cops have used deadly force against black people, resulting in their death or hospitalization, with little to no penalty to the cop. People don't like that. So in protest, most have taken to the streets to get the word out about what's going on in these supposedly trustworthy police stations, and have been assaulted by police in riot gear to stop. Some of the protests are peaceful, and some are not.
Really, the type of protest depends on who's in it, and what they're really fighting for.
Has there actually been any evidence that the cops used too much force with Freddie Gray? Honestly wondering, as I have only seen one video, and they were not hurting him, and I haven't read anything about what actually caused his injury. I understand being upset if a police officer actually does something wrong, but it seems like the incidents that people are getting upset about are not justifiable in anyway.
Update: I read that his injury was sustained when his head slammed against a bolt in the van (not during the arrest), but they are not sure what caused the incident (i.e. driving issue, self-caused, etc.).

These riots are no more than an excuse for thugs to browbeat innocent people and commit crimes in mass. To excuse the act of people burning down houses and businesses is ridiculous.
Freddie ran, the cops tackled him, and later he died.
My theory is that his spine was messed up when he was tackled, and he may have been in pain, but people being incarcerated can be dramatic, so maybe the cops didn't think anything of it.
famousone, I too was wondering if mrclever understands that word for a couple of reasons. The main reason being the following excerpt, "So in protest, most have taken to the streets to get the word out about what's going on in these supposedly trustworthy police stations, and have been assaulted by police in riot gear to stop. Some of the protests are peaceful, and some are not." I was not aware that setting buildings on fire then cutting the fire hoses was considered getting the word out.
I'm not psychic, but I am entirely certain that mrclever would feel differently if that was his home or business being used to "get the word out". Sorry for the novel!
I thought my account was fairly unbiased. Both sides have a small percentage of twat waffles that ruin things for everybody, and both sides don't want to be judged by the actions of those douche canoes even though they are themselves judging the other party by the asshats that don't really represent them. Sort of like Isis/Islam or feminazi/feminist. Also Mr clever apparently thinks riot gear is inappropriate attire for breaking a riot.
pokethebear, I thought your account was a pretty solid depiction. It's really sad to me that a small group of people on both sides of this (the cops who will now stand trial and the rioters and arsonists) are being portrayed as the representatives of their cultures. The noisy, disruptive minority always seem to overshadow the rational, good people in every group, be it political, religious, cultural, ethnic, or any other group.
Death fox-that would be that loon Michael Moore. Go Paris or Madrid, LEOs in full battle gear with automatic rifles on street corners.(but the subway still gets bombed and huge anti-Semite protests are still held) (Paris has to redesign their public trash cans because they were used as weapons) British bobbies carry whistles and clubs, however there are heavily armed reaction forces waiting to truck in at minutes notice. Our riot cops are armed with clubs, pepper spray, and shields (as well as their sidearm). To disarm them would make them even easier targets.
