People should realize that minimum wage jobs are not meant for supporting a family or even one person, they are meant for teenagers to get experience in the workforce.

I would also point out you usually get what you pay for. If you are paying someone a substandard wage, don't expect them to know how to spell fries.
That's definitely not true they are meant for unskilled workers, this included teens but also others as the jobs still have to be manned when the teens go back to school
Minimum wage isn't meant to provide a comfortable life.
Also, when minimum wage goes up, fewer people are hired, small businesses are forced to cut corners, and then everything else gets more expensive in order to maintain profits.
Essentially, catering to the McDonald's employee who can barely make a decent sandwich, and who can barely write, would only leave us all worse off than before.
If you want to get paid $$$, earn your boss much more $$$, do it without complaining, and then make sure you're doing better than the competition.
If you can't do that, get a good idea patented, or start your own business.
A living wage and a comfortable wage are not the same thing. A 40 hour week should provide enough money so workers don't have to rely on handout. End of
This guy says anyone who works 40 hours on minimum wage should be able to provide a good home for their family. Really? Define the definition of a good home. This guy makes it seem like if you work minimum wage by law, they should be able to afford a mansion man get outta here.
The minimum wage isn't supposed to allow someone to have a mansion, it is supposed to allow people who can't get skilled work which includes adults with families who is in a tough situation or is uneducated to support themselves and their family. This means rent, bills, food, clothes and the other necessities. It is designed for people who can't get employed in skilled work as protection so they're not exploited for 2 cents an hour which happens in many developing (and some developed) countries
$15 an hour, huh? Ok, I don't have a problem with that... but here's the thing, if we're paying $15 an hour, we're going to expect $15 an hour worth of work from you.
Dave is just a bleeding heart. People like Dave are the problem. They have no problem giving away other people's money. The minimum wage should be a living wage yes. I don't want the government (our taxes) to supplement someone's paycheck because a corporation isn't paying them enough to live on. That said if you work at minimum wage job you don't get kids or an xbox or a big screen TV or a nice car; you only get what you need to live. It's up to you to build yourself up and get a better job. I'm sorry but not everyone gets a better job because some people just aren't smart enough, strong enough, or motivated enough to do so.... And those people are unfortunately, only worth 8.50 an hour. So suck it the fuck up and drive on Ranger because life only sucks if your always bitching about what you don't have and never doing anything to get it.
