they get credit within the industry, just not to the general public their names are not well known. seems like the downvote fairy is back

i notice the "Written/screenplay by" is at the very front of the opening credits, usually after the producers and production company, so i think it's a matter if you pay attention to the credits or not, i agree, they should get more recognition to the general public, but they also went on strike a few years back for other reasons

Agreed, they should get more credit. But not more than the actors. I mean, their good writing means nothing if its done by terrible actors, where as a good actor can make bad writing decent.

I've worked a little in the film industry, and there is so horribly much work done that never gets credited. Everyone works long, hard days doing a million different things, and only a few of those are ever visible to the public in the end.

I think they should get equal credit, no matter how good the writing is, if the acting sucks then the TV show/movie will suck as well
