This is so true. My mom, 2 cousins, 1 cousin-in-law, and 3 friends are teachers. They all know how bad this is.
It is fact that some students can ace a multiple choice test and suck in a class. While others can suck on a test, and ace a class. It isn't a good way to teach students or judge progress.
Omg this is so true kids in the arts who actually care and want to do well in that art almost 7 times out of ten they will do well in other areas. I was a band kid
My parents all had cool things like shop and drama classes. Our extracurriculars now ( at least in NY experience ) are art ( very limited ) or a type of sport
The school I went to had a whole wing devoted to art, music, woodshop, metal working, auto mechanics, and electronics. They still have most of the programs but the kids have to fund raise most of the budget.
They ended their show at 14 years
It's sad because I just turned 14 and they announced that they were ending a week before my birthday
So happy birthday to me myth busters
Thanks for the years and years of enjoyment and knowledge and bonding time with my dad
I reckon the people who makes these curricula are expecting a future that will need scientists and technicians more than artists. Like it isn't rank ignorance on their part, they're trying to predict what composition of workers bees will be required thirty years from now.
