My homeroom class did this. It was actually a lot of fun to make;I love it when I'll find it a drawer somewhere and can read all the nice things people say about me.
Oh man, that's a great teacher. And my condolences for your fallen classmate. It'd be nice to do this too, but most of my classmates would just right random bs

The thing is, to do this successfully and have meaningful compliments, everyone has to know each other pretty well. When we did this in my class, I hardly knew anyone and so ended up using the same three generic adjectives over and over again, and I know others did the same thing too. It kind of ruined the point of the whole thing. So while in theory (or in the case of this story) it looks like it could work out pretty well, and IS a good idea (I'm in no way saying it's not, because it is), if the class isn't really a close knit group, it won't really work all that well.
