Actually the Ecosphere things are pretty cruel; the shrimp just starve very, very slowly.

But don't the bacteria survive off light and the shrimp feed on them and the algae?

if you go to w w w dot petshrimp dot com slash opaeinfo dot php you can see more information, but the short version is, afraid not. The reality is that the shrimp don't generally get enough nutrition to survive, and as a result, they don't molt but instead consume themselves. They're a pretty hardy species, so it can take years, but...still.....I looked into buying one of these some time ago but after reading up, couldn't bring myself to do that to living things for my own enjoyment.

so? if they're being all scientific and accurate, they should've made viruses tinier, plush or not.

If they're going for accuracy, why make them at all? Then they'd be microscopic. Its just for fun. GOY

no. you've got it all wrong. it's perfectly fine to make them bigger, it's the scale. but it's scientifically and all other kinds of wrong to make them equal size. can't believe i'm quarreling over plush bacteria.
