The reality is that the shrimp don't generally get enough nutrition to survive, and as a result, they don't molt but instead consume themselves. They're a pretty hardy species, so it can take years, but...still.....I looked into buying one of these some time ago but after reading up, couldn't bring myself to do that to living things for my own enjoyment.

no. you've got it all wrong. it's perfectly fine to make them bigger, it's the scale. but it's scientifically and all other kinds of wrong to make them equal size. can't believe i'm quarreling over plush bacteria.
