I saw a similar post with comments from a zoologist saying elephants fear mice not because of this but because they can't see such a small thing but they can hear them squeak very well. It's the same as us freaking out when we hear weird things going on around us but we can't see what's making those sounds.

Actually, there are people who tested this (mythbusters. w/Video evidence) and they hid the mouse under something before revealing it to the elephants, and they only got freaked out once they saw it.
