Wait till you're old and all of society sees you as a drooling idiot because you aren't new anymore. If old people have to get re-tested after a lifetime of driving experience, then young drivers ought to be re-evaluated every six months for their first ten years of driving. And the evaluation needs to be a surprise evaluation, same day as the notification. That makes so much more sense to do it on both ends of the spectrum. High school and college kids drive like idiots and blame everyone else on the road.
It's not beacausr society sees old people as "drooling idiots", guest. Ut has to do with the loss of sight and reflex that is a danger. And it's not like OP is saying "let's take their driving license away without proof" a chance to prove if they can keep it. I agree with you on that some young people drive irresponsibly, but that is hardly going to show in evaluation as they are going to be on their best behaviour for that and their problem is not physical like old people's but behavioural
I was just coming here to say that. At 80 you have to retake your driver's test every year. At +65 your doctor can actually prescribe you a driver's test and they have the right to take your licence away
Only re-apply on paper, not an actual test. My nan is a terrible driver & 87 but has her's renewed every time. She'd never pass an actual driving test now though!
road rules are being changed all the time so people need to be updated on them
Any Australians to tell me if I'm right?
