To people who give zero fucks about soccer... what does "relegated" imply?

The lowest few teams in a league are 'relegated' to the next tier below and the upper few from the lower tier are 'promoted' to the upper league. As an example, If you finished in the bottom 3 in your division in Major league baseball you would be sent back to AA and the top 3 AA teams would be in the Majors next year.

Listen magonus. I'm from America and ur being so ignorant rn I can't not reply to u. Just because we named it soccer doesn't mean u need to force the idea that it's called soccer everywhere else in the world. We're literally the only country who calls it soccer so please sit down and think. Besides soccer has more of the foot involved than football does. That's the "nature of reality". Sit down

No, I'm talking sense. The rest of the world insists on being obstinate and not getting with the times.

This doesn't make sense. Soccer leagues have relagation, it doesn't affect footballers.

Soccer = football is every country except USA

No, just because they use incorrect terminology elsewhere doesn't change the nature of reality. The game with the spherical white and black checkered ball is soccer, the one with the oblong brown ball with white laces is football.

You talking about rugby?

No, football. Sorry, I should have been more specific and said a pointed oblong ball for football rather than a rounded oblong ball for rugby.
