I'm not sure how their pay roll works, but I know it is not much. Our town recently all chipped in to get our pastor a car because his died. So I can't imagine it being a good pay check
I knew a pastor who drove a navigator (when they just came out) and walked around in aligator skin shoes and 3 piece suits all the time... He even had people around that would shine his shoes as he walked from place to place INSIDE the church.
I'm not trying to hate on churches, but some of these "pastors"....
Doesn't anyone remember that the church can still say no to doing a marriage? It is still separated from the state. It doesn't have to do the gay marriage. Just saying
Yes they can. They can also say no to heterosexual marriages. Most churches have the couple attended counseling to see if they are "right" for eachother before they let them get married in their church.
Well, they can always go to another church. As you said, the church and state are separate, so the church is nothing more than the ceremony. The state is what makes it legal.
So legally, they don't have to do the wedding, that won't stop them from getting married though.
If you don't want churches to have money, don't donate. But don't hate on the people who donate and don't want part of their donations to go to the government. Everyone has their own reason to donate
I don't care that its legal for gays to get married now but I hate when they call it equality now because it was already equality before. it wasn't discrimination before, gay people had just as much right to get married as anyone else did. it just had to be to the opposite sex which is the only logical form of marriage for the growth and advancement of human kind.
Uhm, where have you been living? In the United Stated, there were plenty of states that banned same-sex marriage. So no, there was not equality. There was a lot of discrimination, as churches would tell them "No" due to it being same-sex marriage.
You can still get fired for being gay. Some places have the right to deny service to gay people.
And if it was always equality then I suppose you also thought it was equality when people weren't allowed to marry interaciallly ? I mean, they could still marry their own race so " obviously it's equal "
