I was thinking, "Why are everyone's emotions unique and special? Riley's mom's look like, well, her mom, and her dad's look like her dad. Others even have temporary accessories such as hair dye and eyeshadow. Why do Riley's look like the base versions of them? Does she have no personal style? This is the most baffling Pixar movie I've ever seen," and my friends were thinking, "LOL, cats."
I found out the the reason the mom has all female emotions and the dad has all male is becuse the creators were lazy. Lol the creators admitted the reason for it was it was to time consuming to make more detailed emotions for everyone else. So they just made them have same hair as there peraon to signal who they belonged to.
I just saw it 20 minutes ago and I cried, twice. It was also strange because my name is Riley and the character kinda looked like I did when I was younger haha

If you know anything about Pixar and their creation process, then you'll know that they definitely intend for all their movies to have deeper meanings. In Creativity Inc., a book by one of the founders of Pixar, he says they put the story above all else, and that they completely rework stories dozens of times over for the meanings to ring true. It's so that something you loved in your childhood helps you far down the line, and so that everyone can enjoy the films, because they are more than children's cartoons. Monsters Inc. Was really about dealing with choice, and what you should do if one choice is the right thing and isn't allowed. Up was really about friendships in the most unlikely places, people you idolize who leave you in the dust, and how far you can go for love. I could.go.on endlessly. Pixar makes.children's movies, but that doesn't mean their movies can't/don't have deeper meanings or be intended for other audiences as well.
