No, this is a piece of 'art' at some gallery, that some guy made.
(It's fake)

It has happened, but not to this extent. The natives wouldn't be able to hit the plane that much from the amount of flyovers that would have happened in an exploration mission. Not unless the tribe was a warrior tribe.
