People surrendering is their own fault.
It's happened for centuries, so don't be so cowardly as to claim that you were forced to by modern circumstances.
Knock it off, all of you! This site is supposed to be FUN and inspire conversations that aren't full of HATRED. So either stop or leave. It's as simple as that.
I teach music and the one thing I try to instill in my kiddos is to keep doing SOMETHING creative when they are older. Singing in the church choir, painting on the weekends, even taking cooking classes...that creativity and spark will give them an edge over all the other corporate zombies. Keep doing arts, people!!!
One reason why i hate the area where I live is because of the lack of passions. I've spoken to kids my age and it's almost as if they don't care to have any productive passions. Literally all day wasting their life away in the winter with mindless school work and in the summer partying and drinking. I've spoken to kids about learning a talent, a passion. Such as an instrument, photography, art, programming, graphic designing etc... Apparently in todays day and age those things are, "boring". I will say this for myself, unlike most of these kids i've learned guitar, programming and dabbed in art and photography, having a passion isn't just for bragging rights or, "to pick up chicks/dudes". It's meant to be a healthy escape. A place where we can go where instead of doing harm to ourselves we broaden our minds and take out our frustrations. It's sad how in some ways thanks to the modern world there's, almost no need for a passion to take up our time.
They're for sanity, escape from the real world, and fun. But even in high school there is less time for extracurricular arts b/c of college prep, studying for stupid standardized tests, hours of homework, as well as working in the dozen organizations you joined to beef up your resume. I hate how everything is focused on college and our future careers and fitting into society when we should be exploring our passions and learning new things.
This is both sad and insperational. I have created and entire writen language, it still needs some work having a 32 letter alphabet confuses me sometimes plus it is meant to be spoken, and more often then not people talk down to me because "I need to get out and do things more or make friends." that is the most common reaction to someone finding out I like to draw, write, create new things, even that I have a game concept worked out and all that is left to do is learn to code, which will be in no way easy but the game concepts and art have already taken 2 years. I work on all of my projects with my friends we meet at McDonald's and sit in a booth working on the project at hand we all consider it fun but a lot of people I would have liked to be friends with didn't want to be my friend because of my projects, despite the fact that actually being involved is optional. I think I've gone and rambled a bit much so I'll stop here sorry for the overly long comment.
Wow thanks for the support :3 I'm hoping to get the basic phrases done by September, spoken version as I can write most of them out though what translates to Goodbye is a bit of an odd one. With a 32 letter alphabet and 22 single symbol words it can get confusing. Maybe one day Ramire will be recognized as a language, well that's a long ways off but I'm ever the optimist
Ended up making an account so I wouldn't lose this post ^-^'

Welcome umbra! I'm glad you're an optimist about it. I really am looking forward to seeing your creations become reality. It's gonna be amazing. Don't lose hope. Finding and reading biographies/autobiographies about people who've created awesome things can help encourage you when you get down. I'm cheering for you. 8-)
thank you so much, it means a lot to have someone encourageing me instead of telling me I'm wasting my time.

My husband has been working towards being a filmmaker for years now so I know some dreams can take a long time and to people on the outside it looks like wasted time but it just takes longer to see the fruit of it. Still worthwhile.
I'll make sure to keep you updated, maybe I'll post the alphabet when I write it on a newer less wrinkled peice of paper. I use a small journal as my master key for Ramire all symbols letters rules for when you are writing and such are in it, I always forget to create punctuation for it though seeing as normal punctuation looks more like I miss wrote the letter ^-^'
I'm still a kid and as much as I don't want it to I fear this will happen to me. I have passion for writing but i'm not good enough to do anything with it and i'm learning guitar but that probably won't become anything either. I really want to get into something with movies but it seems so hard to. I'm just scared of the future, what if I never get my shit together.

1. You're "just a kid" so it's perfectly normal and ok to not be really good at stuff yet. That takes a lot of time so keep working on it.
2. Getting your shit together is mostly perseverance. Just keep going. Don't give up. And honestly, sometimes we adults look like we know everything but we still have a ton of questions too.
Keep learning new things and definitely keep playing guitar. These things really do help for many reasons. Also (depending on your age) you might not need to worry too much into it. Some people don't know what they want until mid 20's to 30's. So if you practice hobbies and things now, you should be fine as you get older.
I have no idea. I feel the same as you in that i love writing but don't think I'm very good. So i focus on math and science stuff so i can have a decent future career. But who knows if that will even happen? The only thing you can really do is take things a day at a time.
I would try to at least twice a weak try to practice a new hobby, like an instrument or writing or art or photography etc... Just something to take your mind off all the crap that can be happening.
You should definitely try it! And the great thing about cameras now-a-days is that you dont need a crazy expensive camera to get good photos, all it takes is an up to date smartphone and good angles to start, then move on to more complex photography!
You know you can take control of your life. But yes, you have to plan it and think it through thorougly, then give it a try. Chances are, it's by your design and you'll like it... If not, try again. Trial and error.
I love this one. The artist who made that, takes quotes from poets, musicians, politicians, artists and creates little stories with them. Zen Pencils is the name of the site, if you're looking for more inspiration ;D

this brought me bask down to the earth
Wouldn't that be great?

>becoming good at something guaranties none of these things will happen
