Yes eminem is great, but he's not the father of all rap, he's just the most popular, can't forget other heats like dre, snoop, tupac, biggie, ice cube, etc..
I think it's more a reference to Eminem ' song "Rap God". Like a God-Jesus relationship paralleled by Eminem(God) and Lil Wayne (Jesus/son). Except I don't think Lil Wayne is anywhere near Em's, or a handful of other artists', level

I agree, although Snoop was never a great rapper, he was just extremely charismatic.
Eminem is the best rapper of all time... If somebody tells you otherwise then he doesn't know what he is talking about

On the contrary, if some one tells you Eminem is the best rapper of all time, 95% of the time it's some one who doesnt understand hip-hop and has only touched the surface of pseudo-not-mainstream rap.
Hip hop is based on 3 things: the music (the less important), the flow and the lyrics. When it comes to the last 2 criterias. Eminem is the best. He has incredible lyrics in every song he wrote and he's flow is always different. If you really want to understand my point of view, u can start by looking at the lyrics of Lose Yourself, one of his most well written songs... I personnally believe, he is not only the best rapper of all time but also one of the greatest lyricist of this century.
And here's a quote from him from an interview he did with Anderson Cooper on 60 minutes: “People say that the word ‘orange’ doesn’t rhyme with anything, and that kind of pisses me off, because I can think of a lot of things that rhyme with orange […] If you enunciate it and make it more than one syllable — or-ange — you could say, like, ‘I put my or-ange four-inch door hinge in stor-age and ate por-ridge with Ge-orge.'” Now tell me he's not the rap god...

I've seen the interview and listened to all his songs. I have posters of him. But in hip hop there are more things than production (music), lyrics and flow. As a lyricist he is definitely the greatest. Actual content...? He's has bright moments and terrible ones. He rarely proves to be a poet. And the music, which you said didnt matter, can be the difference between a rap song and a hip hop song. Currently, he is not making hip hop.
Well my friend, i dont we can get along on this subject.... And i know what u mean by he is not making hip hop right now. He has changes a lot since Recovery, with less hip hop and more of rock and pop productions, but he is still making rap music. Because rap is not defined by the type of production but by the flow before eveything.
