Hello!!! The turn signal is the yellow flashing light you can turn on on either side of the vehicle to indicate you want to merge/ change lanes, or turn off the road. Not sure if you were serious or not but there you go
What state do you live in?
As a Californian, blinkers don't do anything other than tell the guy in the other lane to speed up so you can't ahead of them, and then the car after them does the same thing.
We use the stealth method: You wait til you have a big enough gap, then you put on your blinker right as you go for the spot. Works much better than being passed up by several cars while stuck behind a semi-truck.
I've lived in Florida for many years. Turn signals are those things that old people turn on and never remember to turn off after they've switch lanes. So it's remains on for a long time.
That is the correct use of turn signals. They are meant to signal intent to turn. They're pointless if you just turn them on as you start to turn the wheel.
