My computer is old (2011 old) and struggles at times to run windows 7 that was preinstalled on it, plus upgrades tend to drag along errors from the previous system and this one will occasionally bluescreen for things as dumb as plugging in a Usb device.

I might experiment with it on a physically seperate HD... but I just can't risk the upgrade crippling my ability to record and edit.
