*totally an expert* english is derived from a Germanic (east or west, I forget..I think west) language.

West germanic. English as we know it evolved as follows. Old English was originally spoken by anglo-saxon invaders/settlers to England, Middle english by Norman invaders to England and Early modern English that was brought about with the invention of the printing press and King James Bible. Although phonetical and spelling differences occur it's still the same language.

Well the ghosts had fucking 500 years, might as well learn a new language in that time. Ghosts can get bored af too.
