I have a crush on this guy who is really short and it kind of works because even though everyone thinks he's gorgeous no one's into him because of his height and its like booom all mine
This has never really bothered me but what does are the girls on tumblr doing shit saying it makes them feel pretty but then blaming men or the media for making them do it, the most notable one being high heels.
Yes! It's a shame. I understand if you're a teenager...my cousin was dating a girl who had to hide it because her family would freak out that she was dating a white American boy,so there is that pressure. But once you're an adult, have some variety! Seven billion people, don't cut down your choices!
I might not choose a particular person because of their colour no because I'm racist or predjucice but because I am honestly not attracted to dark skinned people, however actual ethnic background should never be a problem if you're still attracted to the person
everyone has their preferences and its just the way attraction works. its fine and dandy to be all "zOmG she should date men of all cultures!" but if a person is only really attracted to people of the same, or only attracted to people of a different race, that's how it is. mental and physical attraction are both needed. most people who have strong preferences will occasionally meet someone who does not fall into those preferences, but is otherwise everything they want, and it overcomes the physical preference and they are attracted anyways, but not always. i get tired of us pretending love is only mental, its mental and physical. its the same shit for weight, i would never chase after a guy who strongly preferred skinny girls because i want a man who is carnally drawn to me as well as emotionally.
I have dated men that did not appeal to me in a physical way, but in an emotional way.
And I have dated those that appeal to me in both physical and emotional way. But never have I dated someone that appealed to me in only a physical way.
Because if you can't make me laugh and make me enjoy my time with you I'm sorry, I don't care if you do have blue eyes, is 6'2 (<--only physical thing I do look for. Weight is not an issue.) i would rather date a 4'2 brown eyed, hairy guy that makes me happier than I ever been.
By the way the love of my life, my husband. I married him when he was over weight, he has blue eyes, he is 6'0, and at 19 he was already balding. But guess what every day he makes me laugh. And I know I made the right decision to say I do.

My husband and I would have divorced a long time ago, except he makes me laugh almost every day. His sense of humor is what keeps us together.
Who cares about height, as long as he likes me, and I like him, and he's not a jerk, its totally fine.

I've never known a girl who rejected a guy based on height alone. I also don't know any who have freaked out over being told they're not a guy's type. Do these really happen? I could just be lucky enough to know mostly decent people.
It's not indecent in any way to reject someone because they aren't physically attractive to you, for whatever reason, and it's a lot better than being in an unhealthy relationship with someone you're not attracted to.

Of course not. By "decent" I was referring to the people I know who have taken that rejection gracefully instead of immediately going psycho. Honestly, overweight people know they're overweight, most don't freak out if people aren't attracted to them because of it. The ones that do, their elevator usually doesn't go to the top floor. The "shallow" reaction usually comes when people are rude about their rejection. Very rarely does a man POLITELY say he prefers thinner women, and very rarely does a woman POLITELY say she prefers taller men, or so social media implies these days.
yeah decent people do not say its because of your height or weight. if someone flat out told me it was because i was fat i would be a bit taken aback. i have had some interests who were not interested back, and they never once told me it was about weight, even if it was evident it was related. because they were shit heads (or why would i even be interested) i say again, its OK not to be attracted to someone. physical needs are important too. theres a difference between having some barbie specific thing you are looking for, and having a range of bodies you prefer and most people have a range, and trust me there are soooo many people who actually prefer chunky to thin its not that hard to find one whos into you physically AND emotionally. honestly if someone is really into you for who you are they will become you attracted to you even if you are out of their range. so if they are not attracted to you when you try to date them, it IS more than just looks.
I think it is bullshit to say to people they can't reject someone. You feel an attraction or you don't and for me at least that attraction is surely not based only on height or weight but on the total impression you get of the person. There is no why.
... Maybe I just hang out with the wrong crowd? But I've literally never seen a guy rejected for reasons other than "acting creepy as fuck."

Same here. I know one short guy, but he's never been rejected because of that specifically. He gets rejected because he has a gambling problem and occasionally freaks out and accuses people of subtly making fun of his height when nobody did.

I guess I agree. I am attracted to tall men, but the man I married is 1/2 inch taller than me. I'm 5'4".
Don't even get me started on women rejecting me over the size of my junk!
