some cats make more of a barking or croaking noise and it's perfectly normal. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it has something to do with their vocal cords

It does have to do with their vocal cords. I worked with abused cats for a while and some of the poor babies that had been strangled made weird noises like that. After some time and care though, they were able to meow like normal. :)

And they also think of us as really bad hunters and bring us dead things so we don't starve I think.

They bring us dead stuff because they're trying to teach us to hunt and lick us because they think we don't know how to clean ourselves
