Saying something is against your personal religion and saying that everyone should be forced to follow your religious code are two different things. The first one is fine. The latter is not.

I just have to say that many religions (i'm pretty sure) believe that the religion is for everyone, and the idea (although it isn't always put into action) is that everything is in need of reform. So basically, they don't think of their religion as personal, but as the only religion.
Yes, but there is still a difference. For example - I'm a Christian. I believe that the message of the bible holds the only way to get to heaven. I believe everyone should follow it. But, I recognize that everyone does not follow it. I don't think I have the right to force my moral code on people who don't believe in God. Even though I believe there is only one God and they *should* believe in him, I don't believe that I should expect them to follow his rules if they don't believe in him.
guest - you realize an infinitely powerful God is more than capable of speaking to men and directing them in what they write and keep as scripture? It being written by men and being hand picked is hardly even an argument worth considering. But I'm not getting into a debate about that here. That's not the point of the post.
you also realize that there are well over 4,000 religions practiced in society today, so please explain to me how yours is the one absolute truth,,,,but with your comment we can all see you have been indoctrinated since childhood to believe what your parents believe
I can't speak for the-pacifist here but I made my own descions to become a Christian. And I see evidence all around me everyday, some just don't know how or where to look for it.
No it's not. It's like telling someone not to eat a donut because you have reason to believe it's been poisoned. Seriously, the legal decision has already been made, why do I still have to hear all the stupid arguments?!?
Guest, your mentality is the same reasoning as the people from ISIS and the Talibán and all those mentally unevolved individuals. If I want to be poisoned then let me get poisoned it's my choice. It's my freedom.
