I remember when my parents used to smoke we weren't allowed in their room because that's where they would smoke
Their room looked totally fine color wise until we moved a few years back and you could really tell the difference
All the walls were originally white but they were and icky brown color I never noticed before where they were exposrd
Oh yeah. I once helped clean the apartment of a heavy smoker and when you moved pictures off the wall you could see the color difference. I think its overall just more polite to smoke outside.
Yeah
Cause ( idk really ) but I think that if you've smoked a lot in your own place it could trigger someone's asthma if they came over ? And maybe go through the vents ?
Oh it definitely can. Some asthmatics are extremely sensitive to tobacco smoke. I'm just glad I'm not one of them. Seeing as how I'm an occasionally smoker.
I remember using a steamer to remove wallpaper in a house of a smoker. This dark tea coloured liquid just ran down my arms from the condensed steam. Eww!
OMFG! That is, at the same time, shocking and not at all surprising.
Just think, that's how much crap gets stuck in your lungs. It's amazing that smokers can still breathe at all.
...on a side note; why not toss these and buy new ones? I take it they are going to hang them back up in the same apartment. That's just gross. I don't think you can ever really get the smell or stains completely out; anyone?
TThe smell is fairly easy to get out (not that tobacco really smells bad), and stains can usually be removed with a little work, but it depends on the material.
This was why when we were house shopping and encountered the home of someone who was a heavy smoker with a central vac system, I noped the heck out of there because I knew the effort to clean it up/replace carpet and everything was going to be ridiculous. My old apartment was that way too when I moved into it. It's amazing what cleaning and a coat of paint can do!
I know that this is a not so popular opinion but, guys, smokers know about this and about all the harm that we do to ourselves and our lungs, really, we are aware of that. Every smoker knows since the first time, but I really think that if we respect other people's space and if we smoke in our own homes, we should be respected as well and stop being bothered about the damage that we do to ourselves and our courtains. Please stop, smoking is a personal choice and should be respected just as we respect those who don't smoke.
You'll probably get down voted to hell, i probably will too agreeing with you, but i absolutely agree. We know all this stuff. This shock and disgust campaign of anti smoking is nothing we smokers, or occasional smokers, is nothing we dont already know.
Yeah just forget about the drain on healthcare resources treating smokers for diseases like cancer, when there are people dying who need care and have never smoked a day in their life

this is one of the many reasons i will never smoke.
