I know someone who lost half their eyesight, and they describe it also as "nothing". It isn't black, they tell me that it is like there was never meant to be sight there in the first place. It is no color, black or otherwise, simply nonexistent space.
But if they lost half their eyesight, wouldn't they still see just black? I mean we have 2 eyes, so if would be like trying to see with a third eye; you would still just see black, not nothing. I would believe it if they were fully blind
Completely colorblind people are able to discern value but different colors that are just as dark look the same, actually though most colorblind people are not completely unable to see colors they just see verry few muted colors (like various degrees of red green color blindness), or several colors all looks like the same muted shades (purple and blue are indistinguishable etc)
Im a red green color blind female (its very rare actually) but its wiedd for me because i have no idea what red or green looks like to everyone else. I still see red and green, it just isn't the same thing you guys see. I dont know how to decribe what i see just like i dont know what red amd green really look like.
it´s like the sight from your arm or leg; nothing. There is nothing there at all to see. Like there was never meant to be sight there in the first place.
What does it feel like when your nerves are numbed? What does it smell like when you smell nothing?
What does it taste like when you taste nothing? It's kind of like that.
From a different angle; it looks like what everything outside your field of vision looks like.
