Life dragging you back doesn't mean it's preparing you for greatness.
It simply means that you have to grit your teeth, and push harder.
Life will not hand anything to you, it'll only see whether you're up to fighting for what you want.

So if life's pulling me down I eventually get to stab something? Cool.

And sometimes the shooter'll fuck up and the arrow'll snap when the string's released.

If you shot something, it's because you wanted it dead. If it's a person, then he/she was an asshole. Meaning you are launching yourself into a piece of shit.

I got an arrow tattoo for this reason. I found this picture then designed an arrow. My next tattoo will be "Just focus and keep aiming" underneath it.
