We would have meaningful reform of student loans if young people would vote. The reason the retired were able to get Medicare and Social Security is because 90% of them vote.

Yes vote AND do real research on who you vote for not just what your hear other people say
@stoner
That's not the fault of student loans, though.

If you can't afford it don't purchase it. Save up and then enroll. Or go to a cheaper college.

Depends on the type of student loans though. Private loans are particularly bad because high interest rates and even if you file bankruptcy it's hard to get rid of it because of vague laws
If you pick the right degree, you'll get a good job that pays for the loans it takes to get that job. College is only a waste if you don't know what you want to do with your life. You can poke around subjects and educate yourself for free until you find out

Not all jobs that require a degree pay great though
Education shouldn't be a "debt sentence" but frankly, I don't think paying for your education should be my problem.

Well considering the education of future generations dictates our future makes me think you may want to support education and little more and stop thinking of it as a problem
Does it really matter whether or not I support public education vocally? I'll be forced to support it monetarily no matter what I believe. And I don't think education is a problem, I said I don't think paying for your education should be my problem. And in that, I'm specifically referring to education after high school. Higher education in America is experiencing a bubble much like the housing market before it crashed.
That's not the fault of student loans, though.
