This literally happened to me. However, the day before the party, they had all changed their minds. Because their own plans had been canceled. I simply told them sorry, my party was canceled, so they couldn't come. They had a boring weekend, and my mom and I went out and had our own fun.
┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━┻ How dare they be so awful to you.
No, but it's good that you're not friends with those people. I only have a few friends because I think it's more fun to have a small group of tightly-knit friends. It's easier to talk to a few people, for me, and I have awesome friends. They introduced me to a lot of new things and I know for sure we'll be friends for a long time.
@ Rin. Yeah it was quite awful. You feel like shit when you realize you mean nothing to the people you did so much for. However some of the people I am still very close with, but they are the ones that already warned me ahead that they had something planned. And having awesome friends is, simply, awesome :D And in a way I'm glad because it really opened my eyes.
@ tylerchu I invited my closest friends and people that I haven't seen in a while but wanted to reconnect, so we ended up being between 10-15 people. As we did group games it was fine otherwise I wouldn't have liked it to be honest xD
I hate birthday parties from other people because I'm socially awkward. But my "Party" was hanging out with close friends, talking, eating, and playing games :)
And where was that? Because I just know that these things happened to me, I wouldn't just make them up. However there are so many people on this planet, I doubt I'm the only person to whom such a thing happened
Same happened to me on my this birthday I turned 18 too,( which was on 17th ), no one called, no one texted, no one showed up.
I guess I'll just stay this way, lonely.
Well happy belated 18th birthday! But the reason I posted this was to illustrate: you may feel lonely now, but if you find the right people (and I didn't actively look for them, I'm way too shy for that, they just sort of happened to be at the right place at the right time). So no, you will not stay lonely, at least not forever! :) And if you wish to talk to someone, I'm here
I turned 18 a week before you did and I was excited asf for it. Nothing amazing happened, didn't see my friends and I felt sad, especially the day after.
My 20th birthday was alright but I still felt sad because my so-called flatmates didn't really bother with it. I don't knowho my true friends are.
