I do this too, for added effect I add vault plans, escape routes, and keys to a rental van. Cherry on top is the plane tickets to Fiji......This.... Isn't for the burglars.

I mean, no. Most people who break in to steal your TV are not willing to rape someone at knife point.
While I agree that providing criminals with a weapon and a mask are probably not a good decision. Suggesting that someone whose original plan was thievery would change their plan to include violent crime fundamentally misunderstands why thievery happens.
