She's saying she was able to get some form of birth control and/or sex education from them therefore she has never gotten pregnant and never needed an abortion. So she was being careful.

I was a mistake, therefore, I think some people should be grateful that their parents are irresponsible! But I wouldn't make the same mistake

I was a mistake also and my life has been living hell. If abortion had been legal when I was conceived then I would never have been born. I'm not complaining about that.

I think it's more that some people seem to believe Planned Parenthood is only about abortions, and she's letting them know that not only are they not, but they've actually helped her to never need one.

They also do screening after someone is raped, std testing or education (I'm not sure on which one exactly) it's a very useful program
