My dad is cool. He's fine with me playing games and sometimes even plays CoD with my siblings and I, but my grandmother doesn't like us spending so much time watching TV/playing games (because there's normally not a lot to do in the holidays)
So when she comes to stay, we're constantly getting shouted and stuff. Also, she doesn't like us going to bed late (which sucks because, during the holidays, I tend to become nocturnal and I'm constantly getting shouted for staying up so late/waking up so late)
Also, my room is the only room in our house with 2 beds, so guess where she sleeps?
Also, she insists on organising my room cupboards and other cupboards in the house each time she comes to stay and, each time, she organises stuff differently, so we're constantly looking for stuff for weeks afterwards.
She also takes over the cooking for the duration of her stay (usually a month) and I really prefer my dad's cooking to hers
Some values are timeless, though.
The world doesn't owe you anything.
You're not more important than anyone else.
Take responsibility for your actions and the resulting consequences.
These three basic ideas seem lost on just about everyone these days. Coming across someone that doesn't suffer from an over inflated sense of self-worth these days is shockingly rare.
When my grandma (his mom) comes to stay it's hell though

Story enough?
