I feel like as a society we're becoming desensitized to things that actually matter and are focusing on idiocy like Kardashian's ass size, Jenner's lack of a penis, Beiber's (former) assholery, and other such unnecessary nonsense.
Cancer nowadays has become nothing but a marketing technique. A lot of companies that ask for you to donate to God knows what to stop God knows what kind of cancer don't spend the money properly. And as someone who lost her grandmother to Leukemia,it angers me.

I also hate it in movies.
Oh, this person gets cancer. They're dead. Any way of surviving? Nah. Can they stand up or do anything? Fuck no.
I agree, rwbyrose. People I used to work with used to get so pissed off when I didn't wear pink or donate to their whatever for a cure. That money helps offset research costs so they can make more in profits and that doesn't necessarily help people with cancer. I'd much rather help people directly.
Have you all ever watched Chasing Life? It's all about a woman with cancer who keeps fighting with it and what it feels like. It's a fictional show but I think it's really good
Yeah, I do cancer research, but I more or less stay away from breast cancer. There are so many cancer types that are comparatively ignored and have much worse prognosis than breast cancer. Recently I have been focusing on functionalized nanosheets for capture of CTCs and chemoprevention using nanoparticles to prevent malignant transformation.
