The degree to which I see people follow sports is completely moronic. Athletics might as well be considered a religion because of how fanatically it's followed. Oh, your favorite team lost? The team that you had no investment in, and it's really only your favorite because the star QB's number so happens to be your favorite number? Alright, let's break some xbox controllers, throw a tantrum in the dorms, and swear loudly and incessantly at 3 in the morning.

Oh, your favorite character died? The one you though you really wanted to be real because you're lonely for whatever reason? Alright, let's lay down and cry for three days and not break anything. You're still a fatass and UNproductive but at least you weren't disruptive and COUNTERproductive.
Dailydoseofcringe don't bother people in denial will remain in denial until they realize they're wrong. Sports are healthy and maintain various parts of the brain active while anime and television watching does not. But these people will do anything to justify their childish actions
Maybe in your eyes, but this is how I choose to live my life. I still have healthy relationships with people even though I watch anime and play video games. If you have a problem with it, I'm sorry that something that doesn't concern you is keeping you from enjoying life. Let it go man
"Childish actions"
I've seen people not talk to other people over sports, and you say that getting together and talking about who their favorite character is childish? Yeah okay.
Come back with a better argument, mate
Anime doesn't require any effort, It is not beneficial to your health, dampens your social intelligence, it doesn't give you problem solving skills, and doesn't teach you anything. Sports in the other hand do. So there's no arguing any of this. I don't play sports but even I can testify to that. Don't justify your frowned upon actions.
I just want to point out that there aren't a whole lot of really smart people that play sports, but there are a lot of smart people who watch anime. I don't think the teaching or the problem solving skills resultant from sports is something to brag about. Also, while exercise is important, I don't seem to recall anyone getting permanently injured by watching anime. Or have all of the cartilage worn out in a number of joints, etc. If people who watch anime are antisocial, that condition most likely preexisted their choice to watch anime, therefore anime is not the cause. I don't watch anime, but "there's no arguing any of this" is just idiotic.
>Aren't a whole lot of really smart people who play sports.
This is wrong. You do realize that you will get kicked off of a sport team any higher than middle school if you aren't making the grades, right?
I'm agreeing with garlog here.
Being a sports fan and being an athlete aren't the same thing.
And just because you make the grades doesn't mean you're smart
What's the grade you need to make? A C? C's don't mean you're that smart. A C is average.
To be fair, grades don't tell you shit about how smart you are. You can be the dumbest motherfucker out there and still make A's. You can also be smart as hell and be failing some classes.
Both anime and sport are hobbies, and similar in their basic composition. Both require time and effort to watch. Both may leave you broke from buying merch. Both can lead you to meeting life long friends because you have the same interests. Both have fans who, when they get talking about their hobby, get extremely compassionate. And BOTH have their dark sides - for anime that is shows like boco no pico, for sport that is the violence that takes place between fans of different teams. The fact is saying one is "not normal" is declaring the other to be the same as both are hobbies with, as we can see from the comments, very passionate fans. I'm not saying either side has to accept the other, I'm just saying that respect goes a long way.
When I asked my anime bad-mouthing "friend" why he hated anime so much (I was less than friendly as it must have been the hundredth time he took a shot at me for watching SAO) he literally said "uhh because all the people at school hate it." That enraged me. Be your own person.
As long as you don't think the first arc is good, then I can see why some might think it's alright. I don't mind it on the whole, I guess, I actually did enjoy Mother's Rosario.
I just mean how there's barely any cohesive plot the whole time because of all the time skipping. Having 14 episodes of mostly separate stories set across two years and also trying to maintain an overarching plot was a terrible idea.
(SPOILERS for Season 1)
As an SAO fan, I love most of it. What parts don't I like? Kirigaya, Kirigaya, but most of all, Kirigaya. His character is pretty constantly contradicting itself, and he has WAAAAAY too many plot-armour moments. Also, he's way too damn OP compared to everybody else in the game, "because he's a beta tester". Remember when he was attacked by 7 people at the same time but his health regen. was 10x higher than their DPS? Remember when he hacked the coding to save Yui's life, because she was a fan-favourite? Remember when he tied in a fight to the death with the god damned creator of the game?! The series is good, Kirito is not.
I don't
And nationalist, are you referring to boku no pico? Cause if so then why are you only referring to that anime? Why not Ouran, or Tokyo ghoul, or even AoT? There's much more than hentai, y'know
Why do so many have anxiety?
Because the internet is thought to be the perfect place to hide from all of your problems in the real world. This site is also widely used by people with depression or those that have some mental/physical defect that causes bullying.
The internet in reality isn't a hiding place because you can be bullied just as easily online as IRL. thethirdi has social anxiety, usually caused by an embarrassing situation that destroys confidence.
We need to stand up to assholes that judge because of interests.
