Using your phone during an igcse exam is considered as malpractice (cheating).
And the result of malpractice is failing all your igcses and banned from taking any for the next 5 years
It's classed as cheating. Rules are there for a reason. When we say college it's where some people go to do alevels or btev courses (age 17/18) university is after a levels
It's not too bad a rule. Punishment for malpractice is by no means unfair. This is practiced for the commonwealth too, where GCSEs are taken. The point is, you are strictly instructed not to bring electronic devices unless the paper instructs you that you can carry a calculator for example in a Mathematics, Accountings, Chemistry, Physics paper. You are strictly checked too for any electronic devices before you enter the site where the exam is being conducted. It's rigorous approach accounts for its authenticity. If you really need to bring a phone, you can hand it over to the invigilators before the exam begin or before you enter the venue. Multiple options. It's a stupid thing the guy did, not and the response to it is in no way unfair. Because when you've been warned so many times, why do it then, pretty weird if RTs are more important than one's academics. Just a teen here. Look at the whole picture and then should you decide if it's unfair or not.
Oh and to give you a gist of it, because honestly you guys don't seem to know. Not being arrogant sorry if I come across like that. Just trying to explain so you understand. These are standardized, nationally-internationally conducted exams, twice a year I might add, the first session being May-June, the second session being October-November. You have take practical lab exams too and sometimes ATPs (alternate to practical), the grading system goes from an A*, A, B, C, D, E, G, U (ungraded.) There are GCEs, IGCSEs, GCSEs, and different boards too, the AQA, OCR, OCR Salters, Edexcel, Edexcel Nuffield, different kinds but mostly very much governed by one singular governing body/board. Please add or correct if there's space for correction. Or just look this stuff up.
Have a good day, FSers.
Nope. Formal wear isn't at all necessary. For example if you are registered for the exams via your school then you must be dressed in your school uniform and nothing else is acceptable. But for example if you're a private candidate say for example someone who decides to take an exam again to improve their grade after having graduated from school then you can dress in whatever clothes you would want to wear. Most private schools have a uniform and thus you wear one when taking the exam because technically speaking you're taking the exam to graduate said school.
Most state schools have uniforms too, although there is no legislation governing school uniform. Sorry for the redundancy in the earlier GCSEs explanation, same over informed guest here.
